Combinations.gg is a free word puzzle. You can play without an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details. This page explains the little data the site does use.

Game progress stays in your browser

Your found words, hints, streak, solved days and settings are saved in your browser's local storage so you can come back to a puzzle. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Anonymous daily solve counter

When you reach the goal of today's daily puzzle, your browser adds one to a public counter for that language and date, and reads the counter to show how many players solved the puzzle today. The counter is hosted by an independent counting service (abacus.jasoncameron.dev). It stores only the running total, with nothing that identifies you. As with any web request, the service can see your IP address and browser type when the request is made.

Puzzle data

Puzzles are loaded from our own server. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, pages requested and browser information, for security and to keep the site running.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular. It does not set cookies and does not build a profile of you across other websites.

Third-party resources

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, flag images from flagcdn.com and some scripts from the jsDelivr CDN. These providers receive your IP address when your browser downloads the files.

Cookies and advertising

Combinations.gg does not currently set advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, for example if we add advertising, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not keep accounts or personal profiles, there is usually nothing we can link to you. If you have a question about your data or want to make a request under the GDPR or other privacy laws, please use our contact page.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
